Casa Pipo Independent Living was created in honor of my uncle, José M. Varona, lovingly known as Pipo, who spent 13 years incarcerated. When he came home, no living facility was willing to accept him, and no program offered the support he needed to stabilize and rebuild his life. I had to learn, on my own, how to navigate treatment options, community resources, medical care, and re‑entry support just to make sure he had a safe place to live.
Through that experience, I saw firsthand how many people return home with nowhere to go and no guidance. Casa Pipo was founded to change that. This program was built in his memory to provide second chances, safe living conditions, and structured support for individuals transitioning after incarceration or medical setbacks. Casa Pipo exists so no one has to face the challenges my uncle faced alone.
Casa Pipo Independent Living has grown into a supportive, structured housing program helping adults rebuild their lives after incarceration or medical setbacks. We’ve guided residents through treatment coordination, resource navigation, and stable re‑entry. Today, we’re proud to be expanding into sober living, offering a safe, accountable environment for individuals in recovery who need structure and stability.
